Stephen Archibald, President

Director of Marketing, Outpatient Surgery Magazine

 

Steve brings 25 years of business and marketing experience to the BMA Board. Originally a CPA, Steve made the transition to marketing shortly after he was certified and has held marketing, sales and sales training roles in both large and small organizations for the past 20 years. He is currently Director of Marketing for Herrin Publishing Partners, publisher of Outpatient Surgery Magazine, the leading trade periodical in the surgical marketplace. Prior to joining Herrin in 2006, Steve was VP of Sales and Marketing for an internet start-up business and held various positions with CertainTeed Corp. and Johnson Matthey Inc. Steve also has experience starting and leading non-profit organizations, having done so with several in the Philadelphia region. Asked why he joined BMA, Steve answered, "I'm currently working in a small business environment and I miss the interactions with other marketers and peers that I had in larger organizations. BMA Philly is giving me the opportunity to meet and share ideas with colleagues and to continue to grow my professional network. I'm very excited about the success of the events we've had to date and I'm looking forward to helping the organization grow and flourish in the future."


Krista Souto, President-ElectAdvertising

Independent Marketing Consultant

Krista is an award winning B2B marketing professional with 20+ years experience crafting successful integrated multi-platform marketing programs. She has enhanced the profiles of high profile, multinational companies as well as entrepreneurial companies and start-ups in Philadelphia and beyond, such as Precyse, PricewaterhouseCoopers, CommVault, Arthur Andersen and CertainTeed Saint-Gobain. Krista is a board member at the Business Marketing Association (BMA) of Greater Philadelphia, and also involved in a number of community and charitable affairs. Her affiliations include judge of the North American Effie Awards, Junior Achievement volunteer, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society volunteer, Crossing the Finish Line volunteer, CYO Coach and the Philadelphia Business Volunteers for the Arts. She graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Communications from Cabrini College and currently resides in Montgomery County.


Allison Lattanze, Secretary

Allison has spent the past 20+ years in technology B2B marketing positions for Philadelphia-area companies, including McKesson, Portico Systems, Music Choice, Roska Direct, V-SPAN, the American College of Physicians, and others. She is a charter board member of the Philadelphia BMA and is currently the board secretary. She graduated from Drexel University’s College of Arts & Sciences and lives in Montgomery County with her husband and two children. Allison is a two time recipient of the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association's Benjamin Franklin Award for Direct Marketing Excellence.

Ken is all about growing business. He is a strategic thinker and believes that no matter what business development efforts you have in place, there is always a better way to get more leads, build stronger relationships and shorten the timeframe from initial contact to a completed sale.

Ken is currently applying his expertise through his work as a partner and business development resource for Bright Orange Thread, a web design firm that builds high performance websites through focusing on the users’ behavior. 

Prior to Bright Orange Thread, Ken spent several years in technology services to the financial industry with both Metavante Corporation and GHR Systems, Inc. As the marketing point-person, he became well versed in all the disciplines of marketing through increasing roles of responsibility for multiple business units within each organization.

 

Ken Peffer, Programming Committee Chair

Ken has more than 18 years of progressive experience in successful marketing and business development engagements. He is currently the growth accelerator for Main Line TeleCommunications (MLT), a 24/7/365 live agent client experience center. Prior to joining MLT, He held roles as a sales manager for user-centric website solutions, a strategic marketing manager for multiple business units within an international technology firm, and a director of marketing for a provider of professional audio/visual solutions. He is currently on the board of the Philadelphia Business Marketing Association and is also the treasurer for a local cub-scout pack associated with the Boy Scouts of America.

Felipe Obando, Communications Committee Chair

VP Marketing, Essent Guaranty

Felipe is a 17 year veteran of B2B financial services marketing having worked with successful ecommerce start-ups as well as larger publicly-traded insurance organizations. In his current role, Felipe serves as the Vice President, Marketing for Essent Guaranty, Inc. in Radnor, PA. In December of last year, Essent successfully completed its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: ESNT). With a strong background in email marketing automation, mobile strategy, and corporate brand stewardship, Felipe is thoroughly excited to meet new marketing peers and share ideas and best practices in B2B. He is a recent transplant from San Francisco, California where he served as the Senior Director, Marketing for The PMI Group, Inc. Felipe holds both a B.A. and an MBA in Marketing Management from Northeastern University and lives with his wife in the Rittenhouse area of downtown Philadelphia.

Craig Brown, Board of Directors

Account Supervisor, ab+c Creative

Craig has more than 6 years of experience at ab+c Creative Intelligence managing business-to-business clients such as Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Sartomer, and To-Jo Mushrooms along with business-to-consumer clients such as Susquehanna Bank, Capital One 360, and Official Payments. He splits time between the agency's Wilmington, DE and Philadelphia, PA offices and works closely with members of every department at our full-service advertising agency to solve our clients' problems. Craig earned his bachelor of arts degree from Lebanon Valley College and is a graduate of the Philadelphia Council of the 4A's Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies.

Robert Dekker, Communications Committee Assistant Chair

VP Communications, Wolters Kluwer Health

Robert is a senior corporate communications executive with 20 years of international experience in communications, brand development and brand stewardship. He has held communications, marketing and sales positions in the USA and Europe. He has managed all aspects of communications strategy for multi-billion dollar global organizations, including public relations, employee, M&A, investor relations, crisis and social media communications. He has consistently led campaigns from concept to implementation, resulting in higher revenues and greater brand awareness.

Samantha Oscar, Board of Directors

Marketing Coordinator, ab+c Creative Intelligence

Samantha is driving the marketing for ab+c Creative Intelligence, a full service ad agency that has offices in Wilmington, Philadelphia and Bloomsburg. She works very closely with the new business team, making sure goals are aligned and they are getting the marketing support they need to hit revenue goals. Currently she is undergoing training to add a successful inbound content marketing strategy to the agency’s marketing mix. In addition to the BMA, Samantha serves as a board member on the Marketing Committee for the Creative District in Wilmington, and participates in local Young Professional events. Samantha graduated from Salisbury University with a dual major in marketing and management. Although fresh into her career, she was the marketing coordinator at a large manufacturing firm in Maryland before moving to Delaware to join the team at ab+c. 

Lisa Rose, Membership Committee Assistant Chair

Marketing Manager, LiquidHub

Lisa has spent nearly 10 years as a B2B technology marketer in the Greater Philadelphia area. She is currently the Marketing Manager at LiquidHub, a global digital integrator that partners with businesses to improve customer engagement. Her primary role is to work with LiquidHub’s VP of Marketing to develop and lead a multi-channel, integrated marketing strategy and all related programs. Lisa's specialties include communications, digital marketing, and creative direction. She's one of the charter board members of the Philadelphia BMA, and is currently the Membership Assistant Chair. Lisa graduated from James Madison University with a BA in B2B Marketing.

Scott Sobers, Communications Committee Assistant Chair

Scott is has 20+ years of marketing experience, including marketing leadership positions at IBM, Micromuse, AOL Time Warner, PeopleSoft and Software AG. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Denise Williams, Programming Committee Assistant Chair

Director of Strategic Marketing, Goodman Marketing Partners

Denise has been a six-year Board member of the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association, Former Member Chair, current Liaison to the Advisory Council, Internship Chair, and Philadelphia’s 2011 Direct Marketer of the Year, Denise is regarded as an expert in both B2B and B2C direct response marketing. Denise began her career in 1986 as an underwriter and direct marketer for CIGNA (INA) in Special Risk, Special Other, Association Group, and Direct Marketing Division. She spent several years at Aon Affinity Services managing affinity marketing, and then was recruited to assist in the launch of C N A’s direct marketing division (sponsored market) in Reading, PA. In 1997 Denise moved from client-side to agency-side and as Senior Account Executive, instrumental in the launch of major brands in the US including ADT Commercial Security, Progressive Insurance, Paper Direct, AARP Medicare Supplement plans, Nextel, Verizon, and eidc.com. She was relocated to San Jose, CA in the dot.com boom and worked onsite at Sun Microsystems launching new software products. Upon moving back to PA, Denise was responsible for the launch of Response Insurance, Palisades Auto Insurance, Sterling Commerce, Language Environment Analysis System (LENA), Tandberg/Cisco, Tyco Video Surveillance, Realm Innovations., and SEI’s new content series. Denise led the R&D initiative for Ace Direct Markets and later strategized the content for Ace’s disaster product launch Q4 2012 the first online paid search, and currently managing the Ace consolidated website and full back-end admin. She continues to bring innovation and strategies that work to drive action, anchor relationships, and produce ROI for her clients.
